Nursing leadership and management refer to the roles of nursing professionals who direct nursing staff, oversee the organizational structure of medical processes and lead nursing teams in providing patient care. This course will equip the learner with knowledge, skills and attitude to provide leadership and management in health care services and resources in diverse settings. The department expects to influence students’ critical analysis and perception of of the role in leadership and governance; public relations, monitoring and evaluation in healthcare and illustrate the structure and organization of the health system. Further the students should; correlate human resource management and health care outcomes; demonstrate an understanding of the basic concepts of health economics and financing of health care and apply the theories & functions of management and leadership.
